Firex hard-wired alarms feature very different designs for each type of alarm, highlighting ‘I' for ionisation and ‘O' for optical, enabling easy visual recognition to ensure that the specified type is fitted in each location. Ionisation and optical models are complemented by distinctive heat alarms for situations unsuitable for smoke alarms, such as kitchens.
