Residual current devices (RCD)
To provide additional safety in residential and commercial applications, the Exclusive white moulded and metal clad ranges include a series of RCD wiring accessories.
An RCD is an electrical wiring device that disconnects a circuit whenever it detects that the electrical current is not balanced between the energised conductor and the return neutral conductor. These imbalances can sometimes be caused by current leakage through a person and are designed to disconnect quickly enough to mitigate the harm caused by such shocks.
Passive/latching:
Designed for food freezers or garden water feature pumps, the contacts will stay closed during loss of power so that when the circuit is re-energised the RCD does not have to be re-set.
